Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II left the court after being injured during the first half of Game 3 of the NBA basketball Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Lively is now out for Game 4, while Maxi Kleber is questionable after missing nine games due to injury.
The Mavericks are without one big man but may be getting another back. Dallas rookie big man Lively missed Game 4 after suffering his injury in the second quarter of the Mavs' Game 3 win. The Mavericks have a 3-1 lead in the series and can advance to the NBA Finals with a win in Game 5.
Lively sustained a neck injury in the Mavericks' Game 3 win against the Timberwolves. Coach Jason Kidd said Wednesday that Lively is unlikely to play in any of the final three regular-season games. However, Maxi Kleber, who has missed the last nine games with a hamstring injury, is questionable for Game 4.
The Mavericks will be hoping to get Kleber back as they try to close out the series against the Timberwolves. Kleber is a key part of the Mavericks' defense, and his return would be a big boost for the team.
