AOC debuts 4K 240 Hz Quantum Dot Mini LED gaming monitor for less than $800
The U32G4ZMN brings QD-OLED-like image quality to LCD panels
AOC isn't sitting idle when it comes to gaming monitors. The company is working on a wave of new monitors, including the new U32G4ZMN, which combines a 4K resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate. The cherry on top is the QD-Mini LED panel, a new display technology, which offers some of the same benefits of QD-OLED, but on an LCD panel, and it's launching for a very affordable price.
AOC U32G4ZMN: QD-Mini LED panel with 4K 240 Hz
The AOC U32G4ZMN sports a 32-inch Quantum Dot Mini LED panel with a 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution, 240 Hz refresh rate, and 1 ms response time. The panel is capable of producing 1,000 nits of peak brightness and has a wide color gamut that covers 97% of the DCI-P3 color space. Furthermore, it supports HDR10 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring a smooth and tear-free gaming experience.
QD-Mini LED is a new display technology that combines the advantages of both QD-OLED and LCD panels. Like QD-OLED, it uses Quantum Dots to produce vibrant and accurate colors, but it does so on an LCD panel, which is more affordable to produce. The result is a panel that offers similar image quality to QD-OLED, but at a lower cost.
The AOC U32G4ZMN also features a number of other gaming-centric features, including a height-adjustable stand, tilt and swivel functionality, and a built-in KVM switch. The monitor also has two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB-C port with 65W Power Delivery.
Price and availability
The AOC U32G4ZMN is expected to be available in North America in May 2023 for $776. This is an excellent price for a 4K 240 Hz gaming monitor with a QD-Mini LED panel. For comparison, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8, which has a similar set of features, costs $1,499.
